The Greyhound Kew is an independent, family-run gastropub on Kew Green, one of the most beautiful village greens in London. We have been part of this community for decades, and we are proud of it.
The Greyhound has stood on Kew Green for longer than most of our regulars can remember. Facing the cricket pitch, steps from the Thames and a short walk from Kew Gardens, our position at the heart of the neighbourhood has never changed.
We have watched Kew grow and evolve around us, and we have grown with it: adding a kitchen that punches well above its weight, expanding the wine list, opening up the garden. But the bones of this place are the same. A proper pub that takes hospitality seriously.
Family Run, Not a Chain
There is no head office, no area manager, no standardised menu rolling out across fifty sites.
We are not part of a group. Every decision is made here, by us: what goes on the menu, who we buy from, how we train our team. That independence shows in the details.
Our suppliers are mostly small, independent British producers. Our kitchen changes the menu with the seasons. Our bar team knows their regulars. If something is not right, we fix it. That is what being family run means in practice.

The Greyhound is woven into the fabric of Kew life. We are the obvious stop for dog walkers coming off the towpath. We fill up with families every Sunday. We are the venue people choose for birthday dinners, leaving dos, christening lunches and spontaneous weeknight glasses of wine.
We are not trying to be anything other than the best version of what a local pub can be.
Food and Drink Done Properly
From the beginning, we have believed that a good pub should also be a good place to eat. Our kitchen works with seasonal British produce sourced from independent suppliers wherever possible.
The Sunday roast has become something of an institution: slow-roasted meats, proper gravy, crispy potatoes and all the trimmings, served every Sunday from noon. The kitchen earns its keep Monday to Saturday too.
On the bar, you will find craft ales, real ales, a carefully chosen wine list and handcrafted cocktails. We stock what we believe in, not what we have been told to sell.
